The Stemlocker  is a heavy, specially constructed, plastic ball used to improve the effectiveness of the stemming. It is not a substitute for good stemming practices but if used properly will help prevent stemming ejection and improve results.

To use, put one quarter (1/4) of the total stemming in the hole, drop the ball on top of this and then put in the rest of the stemming. By doing this, the ball acts as a plug for both the explosive force trying to bypass the ball and by forcing the ball up into the stemming on top of it. It is a double acting plug that has been shown by high speed cameras to effectively improve results.

At present, we manufacture one size -- 2.75" for use in 3" and 3.5" holes.
